Smokey
Doing some house cleaning. I have a bunch of old electric RC car stuff from the late 80s-early 90s. Is this stuff worth anything? Would someone/someplace want it? I haven't messed with it in years so nothing runs currently. I have two 2wd chassis. One dirt one asphalt. Some battery packs, a charger, and a bunch of expensive old electric motors. Edited February 21, 2012 by Smokey
Patrick
Might want to change the thread title-thought we were talking like old radios.
Smokey
Thanks Patrick. Stupid autocorrect got me on that one and I missed it.
wagner
It depends on what it is (brand) and the condition. Some of the older stuff can pull good money for the right buyer. The older motors might be worth something, the batteries no, charger maybe. Post some pics or what they are.
Smokey
I'll try to get some pics up later. I was thinking of all of the stuff that the motors were likely worth the most.

Nope, the cars will be, unless the motors are super rare and someone wants them for a resto project.
Smokey
Here are the cars: Traxxas 2wd Dirt car. Don't know the model number. Has electronics in it. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/For%20Sale/P1010318.jpg no-name asphalt car. Cool design and I remember it being fast because it's so light, but not really any suspension travel so don't try to hit any bumps. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/For%20Sale/P1010319.jpg Here's the tackle-box of parts including many different gears for the motors. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/For%20Sale/P1010321.jpg Here you can see some of the motors. There's also one in each of the cars currently. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/For%20Sale/P1010322.jpg This motor is all alone on its own. It doesn't have any electrical leads on it so I'm not sure if it works or if I just didn't use it much. I remember it being expensive. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/For%20Sale/P1010323.jpg Sweet ass old charger http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/For%20Sale/P1010320.jpg pile of batteries that likely don't work. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/For%20Sale/P1010324.jpg There's also a HI-Tec controller, but the bummer is that I can't find the battery pack for it. Drewhop
I have some old motors laying around as well. I have one that was labeled 1980-1981 World champion motor. It was a 17 turn which is what is the stock motor in most modern SCT's (random useless knowledge)
gillbot
i posted some old stuff up on rc forums and ended up pulling a few hundred from it, i was shocked. maybe check out some rc forums, might have a collector there
turbospec29
try ebay, rctech, or rcuniverse. Someone might want that traxxas car, more so if you have the body and everything to complete it.

SRT-4 8U
That buggy looks like the old gold pan associated
AudiOn19s
haha...memories right there. That Wimpy motor is a 13 turn and was the shit for dirt oval racing. Had to gear it correctly but I think that was the fastest motor we had for the oval stuff. The motor 2nd from the left (can't remember the name) was also pretty stout. Don't remember that 240ST at all though which is weird. I should probably pull out my old dirt oval car and truck and see about getting rid of them too. My truck was only driven like 5 times ever.
