Guest GMoney
I want a pair of 1911's in 45 to carry. Not at the same time..... Is there a cheap 1911 compact or sub compact that shoots well and doesnt't break the bank? I want your personal exeriences with them also. A cheap gun to me is my glock 36. I might just buy two more of these but thats no fun to own 3 of the same guns.

RyM3rC
"Cheap" and "1911" don't really go well together. You can roll the dice with a $400 1911 and it may or may not be decent, or spend double and be pretty confident it will work.

Bahnstoermer1647545488
Buy one good one instead LOL. I think to get a 1911 worth owning you're in the $800-1200 dollar range? But hey, you keep guns for life, so I never worry about saving my dollars for a worthy firearm purchase.

OneRunnin72SST
A good friend of mine was rocking 2 Kimbers the other day. I was super jelly to say the least. He had just boughta new one and told me he felt bad leaving the old one at home. This will not satisfy your pricing requirement. I would buy one good one and save for the other. -Erik
STEVE-O
Should have bought my para lol. I love the para 1911 style personally
2highpsi
Why do you need two if you aren't using them at the same time? I love my Kimbers. Latest addition was a custom TLE/RL II The only other one I really want is a full rail operator. Just can't seem to ever find one.
Dammit Charlie
I've been using a RIA 1911with GREAT performance for the money. Only problem I ever had was with the terrible factory mag. I plan on modding it a good bit in the future.

I disagree, read up on some of the 1911 forums and find out which brands have the quality and the price tag. Someone mentioned RIA, and you won't find a better 1911 at those price points brand new. Armscor puts out some really good 1911's and parts (used by other reputable 1911 manfacturers).

You and I have very different standards of quality it would seem. Perhaps if you read up on some of the 1911 forums you will see the cheaper 1911s (particularly their MIM parts) are regularly failing around 3000 rounds. RangerTurbo
I'm a member of M1911 forum and 1911 forums, and don't recall reading about regularly failing MIM parts in RIA's. Sure, parts are gonna fail, in any gun. But then again some of the $1000+ manufacturers don't have such great track records with quality either based on forum readings. So it's all gotta be taken with a grain of salt. FWIW, I also have Colt and STI in my safe, so I don't buy junk. But I don't dismiss a gun on price alone. While forums are a great source of information, not every owner of a 1911 runs to the internet when they have problems (maybe just the younger ones LOL). 9/10 times I see people having problems with a 1911 it's a cheapy.
