Wease
Anyone use yeast in their septic tank? If so, how much and what kind of yeast?

Akula
I have a septic tank, I don't put anything in it. If it is a new tank, I have heard you can put in a pound of ground beef to get things started but there is plenty of bacteria in what you flush to get it going. Yeast won't help because most yeasts eat simple sugars.

CRed05
research during the last 80 years shows yeast does not make the septic system work any better http://www.ext.nodak.edu/extnews/newsrelease/2006/030906/11avoidu.htm Google ftw
ImUrOBGYN
Nobody's gonna say it? ... Fine. You can add yeast but it'll only make some shitty bread. :gabe:
Richard Cranium
Yep, I am on a septic system also. I heard about using yeast, but I don't believe it does anything. Every professional I've talked to about it has said the same thing. The aerobic bacteria that does the work in your septic tank has nothing to do with yeast. harmonda
I just shit, flush, repeat. Call Bob's septic every few years and let the honeywagon deal wit it. It's not rocket surgery...it's shit.
