Sully
So I noticed oil spots on the garage floor the past couple days where the fiancée parks. So I just asked her if she had the oil changed in her car recently. She said she did and that it cost her $120. I flipped the fuck out! We're trying to save money to put toward the wedding and I hear this shit. I'm pissed. So I asked to see the bill.... http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii316/OsuSully/Mobile/f20c341c.jpg What the hell are these places thinking charging this much for this shit? I asked her to talk to me before she gets her oil changed again.
brent1976
That's how they make money, by charging people way to much for parts they don't need near as often as they tell the people they do. My buddies wife got a new air filter every other oil change for a year at one of those places. He was pissed when he was helping her clean the car, and found those receipts. Buck531
That's why I do my own oil changes.
Green Bastard
I like how they charge 22 dollars for an air filter. you can buy a cheapo filter from the parts store for less than ten dollars and install it yourself.

Rocky31186
Why be upset at the company for charging what they do? Be upset at your lady for having someone else change the oil, or being dumb enough to approve 120$ worth of work when your trying to save money... Just my .02, my wife knows better.. Major_golf
I used to manage a jiffy lube and I would get sick and tired of people calling in and bitching About how it's too much, I ripped them off , yada yada bullshit. It cost less than having the dealership do it and it was done a lot faster what more do you kind of people want
SRTurbo04
Don't these places make u sign something ahead of time with a estimate? Really.......

It cost less than having the dealership do it and it was done a lot faster what more do you kind of people want Bullshit, my dealership is cheaper on the oil change an it comes with some free flat repairs. Rotations are cheaper, but dealership air filters are about the same. and while we're on the topic, I bet money that our prices for brakes are cheaper then places claiming to be "brake specialists". I do a dozen $139 brake jobs a week, 1axle, pads, and machine rotors. I used to manage a Monro, and we are by far cheaper.
CRed05
Don't these places make u sign something ahead of time with a estimate? Really....... No but they go up to you and say "Hey, this is your airfilter, it looks like balls, we can replace it for you for $XX, do you want to do that?" Major_golf
I agree most dealer ships do a oil change and tire rotation cheaper than quick lubes but you don't have to wait as long again "quick lube" Air filters are +\- $2. Flushes are a bit more at dealer ships

My point is that while there are some things at dealerships that suck price wise, there is plenty that is the same or cheaper. Besides if you really want your car inspected you can ask for a technician to look at it at the dealership, not some $8hr punk who either doesn't care or looks at the couple things he gets pushed to look at, ie air filters and serp belts. AWW$HEEET
LOL just like the time my mom got charged like $300 for spark plugs on her 97 Tbird. Women are retards. I should create a lube place called "Bitches only" cause Id be a millionaire raking them over the coals.

POS VETT
The $120 oil change, the oily spots on the driveway/garage floor, and the unneeded filters replacement are just the insults. The injury was why wouldn't your fiancee take her car to you or ask you first ?
Major_golf
16k on the car and you think the filters are un needed? 5k on a conventional oil change?
Miller
Those are pretty standard prices. However, those Valvoline guys are still a bunch of chodes. I took my girlfriends Pontiac in with less than 50k, they said they would change the belt for free since they knew her from high school. Ended up snapping the bracket off trying to remove the old belt :dumb: Couldn't find the part given the hour and she was without a car for work for 3 days. AWW$HEEET
The injury was why wouldn't your fiancee take her car to you or ask you first ? Women want to be treated as equals, let em have it. If they can't tell they are being ripped off it should be their own fucking fault.
unfunnyryan
I bet they didn't even change the cabin air filter since most of the time it takes more than 8.25 seconds to get to.

I am and I told her so. The oil change itself, I don't really care about. The air filters and tire rotation is what I'm mainly pissed about. I told her from now on, when they change her oil, they can do the free shit like topping off fluids or whatever, but that's it.
SinisterSS
I just worked on a 2012 MDX that had came from a valvoline instant oil change place with an oil leak, car has 4k miles on it, they destroyed the aluminum oil pan from there reatarded ass hourly guys not knowing how to torque, that or they'll replace the oil drain plugs on newer cars
