V8 Beast
Im starting to look for my next purchase and am new to shotguns. Thoughts on this http://www.impactguns.com/mossberg-500-special-purpose-12ga-185in-6-shot-includes-pistol-grip-kit-50411-015813504119.aspx Primary use will be target practice, home protection, and scaring my daughters boyfriends. Not Brian
They feel like toy guns, srsly. I have a Savage 350 and love it. It's a few lbs heavier but solid and not so "I might break this thing if I manhandle it" I've never tried an 870 but I hear great things about them too.. Well, for your intended use, I would just go with a 500 that suits your feel. The price is good and it will do everything you want.
stangsn95gt
No budget I would get a benelli M4 but it's hard to drop a few gs on a shotgun, 870 otherwise

Guest Hal
Unless he wants to add a Tube Extension! :dumb: KillJoy Target practice, scaring kids, and HD... I don't see any need for an extension on there. 7 (IIRC) rounds should be plenty.

Guest Hal
Until their attorney uses the "$300,000 murder-gun" defense. :dumb: Castle Doctrine provides an affirmative defense. :fuckyeah: Go handle a couple shotguns, Brian. The ones listed in this thread will suit you fine, whichever way you decide to go. That being said, I'm going to throw out a random suggestion; get a Stoeger Coach Gun.
