starkmaster03
looks like you have a great start Always seems to be 1 step forward 2 steps back. PS headlight stopped working and the tires started rubbing badly on the rear.
starkmaster03
Since the fenders started rubbing I rented a fender roller. starkmaster03
While I lowered the rear axle. I also found that the fill plug on the Moser M9 was rubbing on the gas tank. I went ahead and took the Eibach Pro springs off of the rear until I find a good solution. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7140/7553599160_22d65959f7.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8282/7553599204_5e5727887c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8006/7553599162_8a13f0b534.jpg

Dharris89
Awesome car! Are you going to the trans am nationals next month? You would probably kill in the modified class.
starkmaster03
Santa came early today. Since I bought her "Christmas" present with her on Black Friday she gave me the BMR turbo k-member today that she had bought for me. That's one of the last larger pieces to the puzzle. Now I just need to get a set of motor mounts and mount it to the mock up motor.

starkmaster03
Not really. I've been busy on a few other projects. I picked up a tig welder and need to start practicing. I have everything for the hot side and will be starting to piece it all together in the near future once I finish up a few other things. starkmaster03
Finally got all the mandrel bent piping in and spent Saturday and Sunday figuring out the design, cutting and welding.
starkmaster03
Finally started working working on pulling the car apart to start the install. Pulled the LT's, y pipe, intake and hung the engine from the top side.
starkmaster03
I then pulled the alternator, brakes, upper and lower control arms, k-member and oil pan. I then tapped the oil pan for the turbo oil return line and reinstalled the oil pan.

starkmaster03
I didn't like the original location of the T4 flange once I mounted it in the car. I decided to cut and move it to the drivers side as much as possible (about 4 inches) for more clearance for the intake and WG. I then got the turbo mounted and started making the DP. I ran out of Argon today so I'll have to finish welding the DP this week.
Skinner
Very cool and clean build so far are you going to reinforce the core support since most of it has been cut away?
zeitgeist57
Nice progress, Chad! Did you have pretty good TIG experience before this project, or is this your first foray? Welds look good...
starkmaster03
No I haven't TIG welded before. I bought the welder for this project. I'm actually trying to keep them flat as I plan to smooth them out when I'm finished with all the pieces. I don't have any plans currently to reinforce the core support but may before I'm done.
