Usually I find the cable to be more at fault than anything. I'm not sure I'd blame a cable for something as serious as actually bending the pedal, but either way it's a good start.

 

If your cable isn't Teflon lined, replace it with one that is. Steeda or Maximum Motorsports are good choices (you must use a firewall adjuster with the MM though). JEGS usually has the Steeda cable in stock.

The cable is either bound up or twisted or is poor quality. Be careful u may damage ur firewall if u dont fix this. Also make sure ur quadrant is shimmed properly so the cable has a straight shot coming in instead of going to the side.
