After having a great time last year visiting this place on more than one occasion...

http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96954&highlight=scare-a-torium

...and much to the enjoyment of my daughter, I auditioned and will be working for the Scare-A-Torium this year. :)

If you're planning on visiting a haunted house this year, please check us out! I'm very impressed with the quality people I'll be working with, and the couple that runs it are great as well. Can't say that being an actor in a haunted house was on my "bucket list", but my daughter is really happy that her daddy will be scaring people.

It's a family-friendly attraction: Unlike the Hoochie, no one touches you. If you're nervous about going through for the first time, there are "flashlight tours" where the actors won't jump out at you if you want to go through and see both haunts at night. Otherwise, you can do what we did, and go on Sundays for a totally "lights-on" tour and see the decorations and meet some of the actors. It's definitely not the haunted houses that I remember from college...and that's a good thing!

If you like to be scared, there are numerous enhancements that will definitely get you. On any given night, there are over 50 actors in 55 different scenes!

This weekend is the season opener, and keep an eye out on Fox 28 for a feature. Also, next weekend's Columbus Dispatch will have a cover story in the weekend insert.

Thanks for letting me plug my new part-time employer. :)

If you guys are still going to HD on Sawmill Fri/Sat nights, this is damn near next door.

Watch the pre-gaming, ladies...I was told that Dublin PD and private security will boot out anyone (paid inside or not-yet-paid in line) that even looks like they'll be trouble.

EDIT: If you DID go to a bar afterwards, it's right around the corner from Donerick's by the Dublin AMC 18 theater, Applebees is across the lot, and Flanagans is across Sawmill. Just to show I'm not such a stick-in-the-mud. :)

I went with my wife and did the "lights on" tour. It is pretty neat. We are going to go back and do a flashlight tour. Clay took us around and showed us everything, it is awesome and creepy with the lights on, still jumped at a few of the pneumatic things. We are not ones for getting scared, but we love Halloween decorating.

Thanks for the tour Clay!

Last weekend was great! I'm working again on Saturday and Sunday...hope some of you will come out and check it out! Here's the review from City Blood:

If you want to have a great time in an amazing haunted house - but don't want to get pushed and knocked down by drunk meth-heads while some hilljack pushes a chainsaw between your ladyfriend's legs (a'la the haunted hoochie!) - then the Scare-A-Torium is your place! ;)

Know what the price is to get in?

$20 regular admittance. I think $23 for timed entry, $30 VIP tickets...all available online. http://www.scareatorium.com or http://www.columbushauntedhouse.com

For younger kids or peeps not too into it, you can do the flashlight tour, or come on Sunday afternoon for a "lights-on" tour.

BUMP for anyone interested in going. Rave reviews so far!

Tonight, theres a dude that won a contest from QFM 96. If he stays indoors from 8pm to 8am without getting scared out, he wins $500. There's a "bounty" for any actor who gets him to bail. I'm happily sleeping this one out.

There's also a live camera feed on WSYX Channel 6's website during scare times. Can't seem to find it yet.

Over 600 people came through tonight! Hope anyone that's come out had a good time.

EDIT: Fox 28 tour...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kshwgnZMqTU

I've not been to a HH in a few years.. I never had a issue at the Hoochie but I was at a HELLHOUSE(TRICKED INTO GOIN). and I had more then one person lay there hands of me. Then when I got to the end I was shoved into a room full of the scariest shit I've ever seen..... Born again Christians.
