ChevyMan1972
All, Having trouble hooking up a wireless router at home please help.. Home PC, OS Windows 7 Ultimate Internet Cable Modem Router Netgear WGN614v6 When I hook up router to my cable modem / pc it says I have no internet connection.. Once I re link all 3 devices together a couple times error will go away and it says im connected.. I will open my internet browser both crome / IE the netgear software opens up automaticly and it's weird it looks like a bunch of "POP UPS" open on my screen the Netgear logo / router interface firmware program. It says that the program uses java platform to operate, checked to see if I have the latest version, and it's correct.. Anyone had any issues like this before?? Any help would be very helpful Thanks,
dakotart
If you just added/replaced the router, you may have to reset the cable modem. I suggest powering everything down and then powering them up in the following order Cable modem Router PC Give the cable modem 30 seconds or so to boot and connect. -Rich
unfunnyryan
All the 614 series netgears I've used were junk...Anyways it sounds like it isn't configured properly, got kids? Just hold down the reset button on it with a pen for 10 seconds. edit: moment of clarity, all netgear routers are junk.

Akula
Plug the netgear into the cable modem when it has been off for over 5 minutes, then turn the cable modem on and the netgear then on. Once everything is booted up, connect to the netgear and put the security on.
