The white Toyota 86 Convertible was sighted in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, by reader Allan Findlay. The car was being closely guarded behind security gates but Allan managed to take a fine trio of shots showing off the car. Toyota had intimated that it will show off a concept dubbed the FT-86 Open at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and that a number of prototypes were undergoing preliminary tests, but these photos appear to show that the Toyota 86 Convertible is pretty much a production reality. It feels a market niche and if you have to have a convertible, at least it's a good base to start on. Like many of you, convertibles aren't my thing, but whatever.
