hpfiend Posted March 16, 2013 Report Share Posted March 16, 2013 Hey guys- It doesn't look like I am going to be able to put this wideband into the collector, so I will have to have at least one joint that could leak and mess up my AFR. How do you test for leaks other than listen (car is way too loud for that), have heard to stuff a rag in the outlet of the pipe that you are testing but then what? Soap solution would evaporate pretty quickly I would think- if there is a leak, other than repositioning the pipe slightly and testing again are there any other tricks? Red rtv? That would probably damage by o2 sensor... Hmm I guess I could start v-banding for practice for the turbo setup but they are kind of expensive to waste... Brian, Rob, IPS? Rocky31186 Posted March 16, 2013 Report Share Posted March 16, 2013 Start the car and get under it. Have someone else put a rag over the exhaust for 1-2 seconds, dont stuff it in there. In 1-2 seconds you will build up enough pressure to feel or hear where the leak is. Another way is a smoke box. Maybe a Halloween fogger?
