Akula
Ban cars. Drunks kill people. Ban knives. Lunatics kill people. Ban democrats. <-- we don't really need a reason but most of the rage shootings were done by democrats.
Gergwheel1647545492
how many were killed? oh, zero you say? strange, if a gun had been used im sure people would have died.
ross
How the hell do you stab that many people with an x-acto knife when I can't even make a few cuts in template cardboard without snapping a blade?
Got-Boost?
22-people stabbed the same day as the Sandy Hook shooting but many news stations didn't cover it...
TTQ B4U
Perhaps this combined with the noted recent shooting on campus will convince them to remove the ban on firearms on college campuses.

smokinHawk1647545499
We must have congress act now and ban assault knives. like others have said universal back ground checks for purchasing knives, maybe a national registry as well. and put limits the length of the blade. let us do this for the children, how many kids cut themselves with knives each day...... RedRocket1647545505
Thank you for stating the most obvious fact that ignores the larger problem. You know, because nobody was killed, it really isn't a problem. :fuuuu: It's about the same as saying, "10rd mag limits!!!" You know, because 10 dead children is OK. 11 is too much. You know, because 10 dead children is OK. 11 is too much. It also ignores the fact that people will find a way to hurt each other no matter what law you pass. The big mass shootings they keep using as ammo for gun laws are the CO and CT tragedies seem to be connected. Both of these things have something in common that was a major contributing factor to the events, THE PEOPLE USING THE GUNS WERE BAT SHIT CRAZY. So, why do we not address the underlying cause, rather than the tool used? That is my question in all of this. The mental health issue seems to just get a little baby touch, while the evil guns seem to get the larger share of attention. What has changed since the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s that has raised gun violence? Pretty sure there as many, if not more guns per capita back in those decades, but not nearly the amount of mass shootings. Could it be we are allowing the social and moral foundation of this country to just rot away?

Also, at Columbine one of the main guns used was a HP Carbine. Mag size? 10 rounds. Granted they had much more including homemade pipe bombs, but this just further proves your point. They aren't going to ban PVC, nails, etc. from hardware stores. Could it be we are allowing the social and moral foundation of this country to just rot away? Bingo. BStowers023
Here's an interesting thought. Although this does not represent the mass shootings/stabbings, it does represent the safety in the US over time. 1975 US Population - 213,124,000 1975 Total Crimes (Murder, rape, assault, robbery ect...) - 11,292,400 2000 US Population - 281,421,906 2000 Total Crimes - 11,608,072 2011 US Population - 311,591,917 2011 Total Crimes - 10,266,737 So what do you notice? Over the years as population increases, the number of crimes decrease. So do we live in a safer country now than 30 years ago? Statistics would say yes. Here's my source. http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm

Incidents like the Sandy Hook and other mass killings are terrible and my hearts go out to all their victims, But why are the victims of a mass shooting more important than the 10.2Million victims of crimes represented here. Would like to see some good estimates on how much gun ownership has INCREASED over these years too. Because even though violent crimes have shown a decrease even with increasing population gun sales and ownership continue to increase. Facts, figures, and statistics have nothing to do with government in the United States. It’s all about who puts the most money in the right person's pocket at any one time, and what can any one party to do exploit the public to further their agenda.
