Laptop screen fades to white

SO my Gateway NV55C laptop screen is positional. Positional in that if the lid is not either in the right position or manually twisted the video feed to the screen stops and quickly fades to white, starting to fade on the R upper and lower corners first.

Assumably this is due to a poor connection. There is a youtube video that will walk me through getting to the connection but my concern is what if the screen connection is ok...where do i go from there?

Any pointers?
