Spidey2721
which would you buy? the sheild or m&pc? both in 40. looked at both of them and was surprised by the fact they are not much different in size at all. bigger slide in the C and bit heavier. hell the shield is actually a smidge taller then the C. anyways whats your input owners? Stretch
C. I had a shield and sold it to get the C simply because of the weight. The shield is nice, but since it's so lightweight it has more recoil than I'd like.

I like the extra rounds and am not bothered by the extra width over the shield
Ramsey
i think the shield is better suited for 9mm.
Tractor
I'd get the shield since slightly smaller is still slightly smaller, but you also have to be realistic about your plans for the gun. A) take it to the range and shoot a bit B) 99% concealed carry, self defence only If its (A) then I'd get a full size. If its (B) I'd get the smallest (easiest to carry) and cheapest because the target is gonna be very close and your gun is gonna end up in a evidence locker if it ever gets used for its intended purpose. 1fast5gp
M&Pc... shield is okay for CCW in 9mm. 40 would be too much IMO.
Ackbar00
I had a C in .40 and sold it mainly because i thought it was to thick to carry IWB. Got the Sheild in 9mm and could not be happier.
copperhead
I have a 9mm Shield. The trigger is a bit crunchy, but from what I'm told its better than most M&P triggers. Otherwise, recoil isn't bad at all, its comfortable to shoot, and it conceals super easy. Other than the trigger, my only complaint is that there is a textured section of the trigger guard where your middle finger rests against it, that will rub your finger after firing or dry firing for a while. TurboGoKart
need to get out and rent em both at a range. Hit the nail on the head. Everyone has their personal likes/dislikes, but when it comes down to it, it just depends how the gun feels in your hand and how it shoots for you.
1fast5gp
or get both. I have a M&P9c and a Shield in 9mm.. lol
evan9381
I have the 9c. IF i was buying a gun and didn't have it, i'd go 9 shield. because i already had the 9c, it wasn't so much to jusitfy having both or getting rid of the 9c to get it. for 40, i'd probably go C
