People are ignoring the fact that today your paying for not only amiercans but illegals when they go to the ER and don't pay there bill.

No, the problem is that instead of only having to pay for illegals to go to the ER, now we're making it mandatory for people to have insurance, so now we're going to be paying for ALL the illegals, not just the sick ones that go to the ER.

By making it easier for people to obtain basic services your reducing costs by creating a healthier population. Why is it Japan pays the least and has the longest life expectecny?

Cause they're not fat. Lol. Two things with that; 1) You have to look at the cost benefit factor. Is it a better financial decision to make everyone obtain basic service? Or to leave the unhealthy population as it is? And 2) With today's mindset, you're not creating a healthier population. People will continue to do what they please, indulge in what they want, with no regard to a healthier population. In fact, I would argue that it may even decrease the healthy population because now some people may be of the mindset that, "Oh hey, I have healthcare, I can do whatever I want because now I can go the doctor's." (much like, "Hey I just worked out for 2 minutes! Now I can have a triple baconator!")

Also people are penalized for not having car insurance also, Does that mean we should shut the govermetn down?

If you don't have car insurance and you hit someone, who pays for it? I believe that falls on the insurance company, as well as now the victim has to pay their deductable, all because THEY got hit and you had no insurance. Car insurance is there to protect all drivers.

Anyways, Sorry Ramsey, didn't mean to clog up your thread with this discussion. I'll be done now so you can get back to the actual thread lol.

THAT WE WILL ALSO PAY FOR YOU FUCKING IDIOT.

-Marc

Most likely if you they make 20k, their adjusted gross is probably low enough they are on medicaid or medicare anyway.

Also, I would imagine the hospitals/ers/doctors/specialist include in their current pricing to cover the losses from the current uninsured. So, hopefully the over testing of the insured to cover the uninsured is stopped, which could cut cost as well.

My statement was accurate. I was posting in regards to the person making 20K and not being able to afford coverage. Yes our TAX Dollars are being used to subsides the price for the lower income person. But the same applies with your car insurance. If you wreck your car tomorrow the other people using your insurance company are paying to have your car fixed... Fucking Socialist car insurance.

BTW, I believe you were trying to say:

That we will also pay for, You fucking Idiot.

Do you have employees and pay for their group healthcare plan?

No sir I don't, I was just curious where the increase was happening. Considering my insurance only went up by 11% this year I assumed there was some type of correlation.

Actually if someone hits you and you don't have the proper coverage your going to be up shitcreek with out a paddle. I pay extra to have uninsured coverage. (covers someone hitting me with out insurance).

BTW it's illegal to not have car insurance or a secured bond.

This isn't really a debate its more a fact. If people have wellness checks and basic maintenance it costs less in the endgame.. To many people do not get the basics taken care of as of today because they don't have coverage.

Just like if your car's timing belt is do at 100K and you skip it and the motor jumps time bends the valves and ruins the engine.. It just cost you more to repair that than it would have costed to replace the timing belt.

What is this secured bond option?

I believe it's $30-$40k

However if an accident is your fault and the car/repairs and medical are more than your bond you are responsible for the excess. Just like if you didn't carry enough insurance. (Only pay for the minimum coverage.)

Yeah, that's the difference, I'd think - I have to pay for multiple people and some of them are going to have substantial increases in their healthcare coverage. Plus, there might be some kind of premium that's being placed on group coverage for small businesses. Ironically, the major hikes in the coverage makes me think of cutting employees to eliminate the costs.

They passed the law upheld as a "tax"

They wouldnt lie to us WOULD THEY...

Their New York Fan Boy even picked up on this bullshit.

When in reality it is a fine...Maybe we should send it back to the courts hahahaha.

Ramsey, I have been on the exchanges updating myself with this riff raff. In your case maybe it wont be too bad. The biggest issue right now is there is essentially no cross section of data to analyze that will tell you real world how this is going to pan out. Worst you do is try it I supose.

Thanks Obama.

The double Down article was an interesting read, The only part I wasn't sure about was the adjusted for pre-existing conditions portion. What I'm assuming is they are taking the preexisting coverage costs and averaging them in with the regular costs. But I'm not sure.

So you have over 50 employees? Not trying to pry just curious. Since there are provisions for small business with less than 50 employees

No, under 50 employees. I think I'm eligible for some tax benefits - I'll have to check with my accountant to confirm that.

Mine is closer to 7% but i didnt think 7,9, 10% seems like too much.

If I'm reading it right to get any subsidy you have to make under 4x poverty level, and either not be offered (sufficient) health care through your company or have it cost more than 9.5% of income. The calc for how much you can/will pay also goes something like 2% at 1.x? times poverty level scaling to 9.5% at 4x poverty level. So someone who makes $45,800/year could pay up to $360/month. I would hope one could find less expensive sufficient health care coverage than that, but maybe not.

I hope this isnt the final action taken.

I couldn't agree more.

When I put in my info, the total year price is not effected by income. Only the subsidies are. I will be getting signed up very soon and have a much better idea on the whole thing very soon.

Man This Is Really Concerning Me, I Got A Letter In The Mail The Other Day Stating That Our Insurance Rates Are Going Up To Be More "In Line" With The Rest Of The Market And Now I Am Hearing That A Big Wig Is Coming To Our Facility To Go Over The Health Insurance Plan. The Only Time Those Guys Come Is When They Deliver Hard/Bad News. And I Have 2 Kids And A 3Rd One Due In April So I Can't Really Go For The Bottom Coverage That My Employer Provides.
