Got-Boost?
This is part of the TX2K14 event...Friday 3/14/14 will still be dyno day (like always) and Saturday 3/15/14 & Sunday 3/16/14 will be drag racing (like always). Below is information on a new event that we added at the request of our sponsors. TO: All interested in participating or attending the TX2K™ Roll Race Nationals FROM: Peter Blach, Founder TX2K™ and Promoter ANNOUNCING TX2K™ ROLL RACE NATIONALS AT TEXAS WORLD SPEEDWAY I’m incredibly excited to bring this type of event to our TX2K™ family! This year we are suspending the Road Racing event and in its place will be the first ever TX2K™ Roll Race Nationals! DATES: We are going to start a day early, gates open at TWS on Wednesday, March 12th at 7:00 am and the event will be all day the 12th, finishing around 2:00 pm on Thursday March 13th. Wednesday will have us focusing on acclimation runs, grudge matches and starting to qualify for three classes. I’m working on a hotel deal in the Bryan/College Station area for Tuesday and Wednesday night and I’ll share information as soon as I have it. Specific start times and schedules will be forthcoming. NUMBER OF CARS: Number of cars will be limited to approximately 120; sponsors of TX2K14 had the opportunity to grab a spot prior to them becoming available to the public and they have taken approximately 40 of the 120. Therefore I have about 80 spots left. COST: Price is $260 per car. This is non-refundable, however you can transfer an entry if your car cannot make it (subject to my approval – Peter Blach). Keep in mind that non-refundable means that if the weather ends up cancelling the event, there are no refunds. I cannot control the weather but I will have to pay for venue and insurance long before the event. CAR QUALIFICATIONS: The first round of entrants will all need to be ABOVE 800WHP. I reserve the ability to add in lower HP cars later. HOW DO YOU LOCK IN A SPOT: You must email the following information to tx2kenterprises@yahoo.com : Full Name, Car Year, Car Make/Model, Car whp, also include where you read the instructions to sign up (what forum? Facebook?). I am limiting the number of entries that will be allowed to approximately 120 so as to have an event that isn’t too full and one that allows for as many side by side races as possible. If you do not include all of the information requested above I will simply delete your email. CAR RULES: Specific details will follow, BUT in the spirit of the type of event TX2K has been for the past 15 years, we are looking for STREET CARS. That means no tubbed drag cars, no lexan only race cars, no fiber glass body race cars, etc… Also, skinnies will NOT be allowed, cars will need to run a DOT approved tire. GATE FEE: $20 per person per day (this includes racers, spectators, sponsors, etc) to get into the facility. No exceptions to this rule. STRUCTURE: Cars will qualify into one of three classes. The top 16 cars will be in the Unlimited bracket, the next 16 will be in the Super Sport bracket and the next 16 will be in the Sport bracket. Grudge matches (callouts) will be allowed as well and a more formal structure around call outs is forthcoming. We will have a VHT tractor and a crew responsible for “prepping” the first 500-600 ft. of the run area. AWARDS: I am expecting to run the semi-finals and finals for all three classes after lunch on Thursday and then we will have the award presentation with the top three in all three classes receiving awards. HOW THE RACING WORKS: The cars will be paired up in the hot pits and proceed to the end of the hot pit road at the base of Nascar Turn 1 (N1). The cars will leave pit road and pace each other for almost half a mile as they climb the banking. By the middle of Nascar Turn 2 (N2), the cars will be side by side and approaching the long back straight between N2 and Nascar Turn 3 (N3). As they exit N2, they pass over a starting line and accelerate for approximately 1500 feet towards N3. The track is 80’ wide and there will be lane markers. Cars will then pass over a finish line and have 800+ feet to slow down before reaching the banking. The middle of the banking between N3 and Nascar Turn 4 (N4) is not particularly smooth, but the high line and the low line are in good shape. Each car will have plenty of time to slow down and then safely enter the pits at the exit of N4 where an official will hand out slips with MPH numbers to the drivers. Should the vehicle’s brakes fail, simply continue on the banking down the front straight (b/w N4 and N1). STARTS: Both cars will attempt to cross the starting line at the same moment and at the same speed (60 mph). We will have an official starter and if these two criteria are not met within close tolerance (1/2 car length) then the run will be DQ’d. SCORING: When the two cars approach the finish line they will activate a timing system that will calculate their MPH at the end of the run. First car crossing the finish line wins. We will have displays, we will be logging all the times, and we are working to have an AM broadcast system so everyone can follow the action. We will keep boards updated in the paddock/pits area as well.List as of 12/8 at 6:00 pm Central Time http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/houstonT/TWSMapArrowsFINALTX2K14RollRaceNats_zpsdfee131c.jpg 1. Geeesammy
I might try to make it down this year just to spectate if my work schedule allows it.
-Alex-
That should be pretty cool, but I'm guessing the road racers aren't too thrilled. I'm curious about the 1000 whp '70 Duster. Somewhat interested in the sea of 1700-1800 whp GTRs and Lambos as well, lol.
Trouble Maker
Where is CTD? More serious question, why are there so many Lambos but not a single Ferrari? I think I know the general answer, but want to see what others opinions are. Especially those that are really into this scene.

Lack of support and not an ideal chassis to work with, not to mention $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

2highpsi
I'm considering going. I doubt I make enough HP to compete in this particular event this year though. Unless they don't fill the spots, and lower the minimum HP to 600.

Got-Boost?
They are saying they have done enough testing on the track and it's not so bad. The banking is setup to enter at 100mph with the wheel straight. So unless someone does something completely stupid, it should be okay. They are also prepping the first 600-800' of the track with VHT... :lolguy: That should be pretty cool, but I'm guessing the road racers aren't too thrilled. I'm curious about the 1000 whp '70 Duster. Somewhat interested in the sea of 1700-1800 whp GTRs and Lambos as well, lol. From what Peter is saying on numerous other sites, the road course cost more (required more sponsors to cover) and had far less participants competing.... So at this time it's a win-win for the event and racers! Just wish they had a motorcycle class or at least let them compete...

Here's a teaser vid of it last year. Like I said, last year and a different setup. That was ~700whp on pump through the auto.
