EssFo
Remember on Jackass when Steve-O shoved the Corvette up his ass then went to the dr to get an Xray? This is just like that only with a bigger asshole.
mrs.cos
It happened in the Dome, one of the oldest areas of the museum. http://i.imgur.com/Y0PwDL3.jpg The camera was up this morning for it, but now it has been taken down. Green Bastard
The first car they removed was the sole 1983 corvette. Hope they can save this one, it is literally irreplaceable. I heard a story about this car, it shouldn't still be around anyways. But thanks to one of the people commissioned to destroy the run of cars, they couldn't see destroying all of them. mrs.cos
Skip to 1:50 for them actually going in the sink hole. Ummpphhhh  The first car they removed was the sole 1983 corvette. I was unaware of this story. http://www.corvetteblog.com/2007/02/corvette-museum-the-missing-1983-corvette/
Cordell
Well on the bright side nobody was there to get hurt. Still amazing to me the odds of all the places for a sink hole, it swallows the only 1983 Corvette.
speedytang
Even if your not into Corvettes it is worth visiting. Excellent
Draco-REX
Well on the bright side nobody was there to get hurt. Still amazing to me the odds of all the places for a sink hole, it swallows the only 1983 Corvette. I don't think the 83 went into the hole. I think the story meant that they removed the 83 from the dome so it wouldn't go in if the hole widened. The 83 wasn't on the list of 8 that went in. Cordell
I find it interesting that it happened to the cars in the middle of dome. I'm not, if you consider all the footing and extra concrete poored around the perimeter to support the dome. Now that's not to say the dome isn't unstable but it wouldn't be the first to go.
