Like the changes!

Not to thread jack-but

I have also considered trying a different wheel color-but I think silver is best for my paint color. Am I crazy? Maybe a light gunmetal, or go ricer and try good ol' TE 37 Bronze?

Also-do you HAVE to run spacers when installing lowering springs? I have not researched the issue.

*edit* Wow, forgot how nerdy stock tips were!

They are niovat (sp). You can run springs but most people find that the suspension compensates for the drop and stresses to raise it back up to stock height after a few minutes drive.

I just asked the same question on LS1tech. I just want an inch or so drop not a Farkas. They said in that case I should be fine, H and R springs seem to be the way to go.

On your car, I think a lighter gunmetal would look good. You could also go chrome for not much more than powder coating.

You have the springs yet? Let me know how that works out.

Funny I was thinking Chrome too-since I am leaving the front grills untouched. Wish there were good aftermarket options for this lug pattern.

Well not doing my research in advance has backfired.

Let me know if you want to buy some used springs. I bought the set that was on ls1tech, and it turns out they might be softer than what I want.

They settle lower than advertised, sometimes causing rubbing. They are very soft, and sometimes bouncy. The thickness most have found correct is 3/8".

I think this is what was recommended as a good material to use.

Assume you have H&R's then? MM spacer in the rear? Are the on the car or are you now just hesitant to put them on?

Springs are still in the mail. Should have them Monday. I have new MM spacers to go with them already. Very hesitant. I do some autocrossing and have a trip to Neslon Ledges planned. If these are softer, I don't want them! I was planning on doing coilovers anyways, but thought this might tide me over tell winter so I could do a cam/head upgrade.

Appreciate that JP but they are all you if you want them. I have read they can drop the car up to 2". I don't have Farkas' patience - it would make me want to punch babies.

LOL.

I am in a similar boat. I drive my car, HARD, just about every day y(note to self-delete this post before selling) I am lucky enough to live right next to a state park with a great road, AND A highway-So I go Highway, one exit to work, windy forest on the way home. 5 miles each way for work.

I love the way the car handles now, I really think it’s about perfect. GM did a great job on this thing-and I'd hate to go this route and not be able to enjoy the car.

I could not agree more. It is a great balance between handling and ride. Like I said before, it makes me smile everyday. I am researching cutting the stock springs...it sounds bush league but apparently many have great results. The thing is pretty low stock - just a little more would be perfect.

I loved the stance of my T/A...just a hint of a drop:

Well I need to look into my stock suspension then. Mine feels more like a boat than a well handling sedan. Let me know if either of you are interested. These will likely just be stored away in the basement.

more info on this one-

On a summit run today I came across plasti dip metalizer.

http://www.plastidip.com/home_solutions/Plasti_Dip_Enhancers

Looked interesting. After seeing a few before/afters on youtube, I will say definitively this is the shit most everyone should be using on wheels. Why? Because it does not look like plastidip!!
