Geeto67 Posted November 8, 2014 Report Share Posted November 8, 2014 I think the project has always been avant guard art rock/rap, but with each incarnation it's taken a different turn. Some people just feel they have to make art their own way and their art evolves as times change. I can't speak to whether they do drugs or not but I've never seen drugs make that much of a difference on the creative process other than to hinder people's music career. The band was friends with director Neill Blomkamp (district 9, chappie) which is how they ended up in the movie chappie. If Internet scuttlebutt is yo be believed waddy/ninja behaved so poorly on set they pretty much burned any bridges they had with Neill.
