Mojoe
I have called places all last week. No one calls back, even referrals from other places don't call back. I have a 2008 Generac plus 15k. It has all the symptoms of a bad starter. Clicks, but won't crank. Fuel tank is full. New plugs and a good battery. I have check wires to the starter and they are good. I tapped the starter, nothing. It was running it's regular weekly service until about 2 weeks ago. Anyone work on them or know someone who will actually be able to look at it?

Gergwheel1647545492
are you able to access the starter? Why not just pull it off and get numbers and find a replacement online? Has to be easier than getting to the turbos on a FD :gabe:
gbracing81
I use a place in Lancaster called ATI. Not sure if you want to go that far but they specialize in Generac.
Mojoe
I'm not knowledgeable enough to justify throwing parts at the problem. As for the Lancaster shop, that distance will probably have me in the same spot as who I just got off the phone with. They are a $200+ per call, just to show up. Mensan
How do you know the battery is good?
Mojoe
Tested the battery, it was good. Swapped with another battery that is good for same results.
Mensan
OK, just checking the voltage doesn't work. It can show good voltage and still fail a load test.
Cordell
Why not make sure you have power at the starter when its supposed to be cranking? If you do its likely just the starter, if not then there is something wrong with the control circuit. You can always jump power to the small wire on the starter and see if it cranks.
