Slimpsy1647545505
Hello my CR brethren! I wanted to touch base and get an idea if I'm paying too much for home insurance. My current 12 month premium went up about 100 dollars and I feel like I'm paying a lot (810 dollars per year now). My home is a standard two story sub-division home built by dominion. . . 10 years old, by fire hydrant and within 5 miles of a fire department. No pools/trampolines/dogs. Am I paying too much??? Any references or recommendations on new quotes is highly appreciate! I've been with Donegal for awhile but it seems to increase every year! Thanks
Bam
That's less than mine but you didn't give very much info on size of house, features, etc. I switched to Geico earlier this year after having Allstate and Liberty Mutual for the past 7 years and my new house is larger and rate still went down nearly $400/year. Nothing wrong with shopping around but I'd be thrilled if my annual premium was less than $1000.
Slimpsy1647545505
Thanks for the reply Matt. . . house is 2100 sq ft 4 bedroom 2 story, vinyl siding, slate roof, gas heat, central air, 2 car attached garage. I was just curious on what others were paying. I heard Ohio had a hike this year in home insurance rates due to a lot of claims insurance companies are receiving. Dirty. cstmg8
We pay 1150 for a 2800 sqft brick split level.. Depends on replacement cost obviously, but some old materials are ridiculous now. We also have a pool, so that prob raises it.

Berto
Mine went up like CRAZY. I did have to replace my roof twice in less than 3 yrs due to hail (obviously that was my fault, ugh). We just moved into a bigger house. 3600 sqft, pond on the property, 5 acres, out in the country. Paying $1200 /yr . Insurance guy did say that due to all the weather crap there has been lately in the US, all rates have gone up also. My insurance on my subdivision house 1300 sqft 4 yrs ago was under $500. Crappy. Chief8one
last time I checked I pay 600 for a 2000 sp ft. home. BUT 800 for car insurance for my crappy 97 stratus and 94 Miata. 31 with a clean driving record. It's through encompass. I plan on shopping around soon. Zx2guy19
I pay like $800 a year for a 1700 sq ft house in Hilliard, never had a claim. Rentals are ~$600 a year but they are in the ghetto. I have State Farm.
