Mojoe
Running windows 7 ultimate. It's like I don't have the wifi turned on. However, it's the same when I connect directly to the router. The other computer in the house is running fine and connected. I have checked if anything Internet related is disabled, everything is enabled. Using both Internet explorer and Chrome, I get a message that says page can't be displayed, check connection. Doesn't matter what page I try, even ones from favorites. Have ran anti virus and spyware with nothing found. WTF am I overlooking? Thanks

Mojoe
Yes, to both the router and the motum. Is that how it's spelled?
Not Brian
Are you able to see any other hotspots, like your neighbor's router?

Not Brian
Unplug your modem and router for 30-60 seconds, then plug in your router, then plug in your modem.
Mojoe
I don't know what I'm looking at, but I did all that. No error messages. Madia state does say disconnected.
Orion
Go into your control panel and make sure that your LAN/wifi driver is up to date. It sounds like it is computer specific, so I would guess that it is a driver issue.
Mojoe
Not seeing any option to update drivers related to the web.
Orion
Control panel -> device manager -> Network Adapters. Left click to see a list. Right click on them, go to properties, select "driver" tab. there should be an "Update driver" selection.

I'm saying to reboot the modem and router, and see if your computer connects finally. Also, have you rebooted your computer?
Mojoe
I don't have those options, or anything resembling them. I have right clicked on everything that has to do with network, and there is no drop down with more options.

Mojoe
Got to network adapters. Updated two drivers. Have MS Teredo tunneling adapter with a yellow caution triangle on it, but it says it's up to date. Restarted. Still no web access.

Shmaa
If you get a reply. Go to control panel, Internet Options, Connections Tab, Lan Settings button. Make sure "Use a proxy" is unchecked
Mojoe
Did all that. It was already unchecked. I'm guessing it replied. I don't know what it should or shouldn't say. I don't think the broadband is connected through the WAN miniport. It has the user name info there, but no password. This is not a place I created a password for, nor have I used to go online before. Tractor
Usually the first few things I do are see if I can access my router or another PC. Keep it simple.

Coaster
Check all around the edges of the laptop for a switch to turn the WiFi on and off. Might also be above the keyboard as a button or it could be a Function + Symbol deal. This happens at work all the time. Someone bumps the hardware switch to turn the Wifi off.
