Furnace Issue

So started having a occasional issue with my furnace, American Standard Freedom 80 Series. Furnace will kick on run the heat cycle, and after done, jets will turn off but blower will continue to run for 3-5 minutes before shutting off. When the issue comes up is the blower won't shut off and will continue to run. This will prevent the next heat cycle from happening. For the diagnostics's code I will get 5 flashes when the blower won't shut off, which comes up as: Flame sensed when no flame should be present.

I really have no clue about this. I have a service contract with Atlas, but would like to avoid having them come out if it is something simple. Like I said this doesn't happen all the time. When it does, I just shut the furnace off at the circuit breaker and then flip it back on and it seems to rest. Will run fine for a day or 2 than have this issue again. Any ideas?

Well after 2 different trips and 2 different techs, they think my circuit board is bad, but they also found cracks in the heat exchanger and now are recommending replacement. Unit is 19 years old and we knew it would need replacing at some point. Atlas is coming out tomorrow to give us a quote, but if anyone else is in the business I would be willing to take another quote.

Yes, I live in Westerville. Once I get the quote from Atlas, I will be calling around to comparison shop. As I said, furnace was 19 years old and we knew it would need to be replaced, so just going to bite the bullet and replace it. We are planning to sell and move out of state in the next 5-7 years, and we knew this would be an item needing to be replaced before we sell our house.
