carl1647545492
I got a quote from TSI freight, $286 to ship a hood to 15235 from 43035,with a 100 pound minimum. I don't do this everyday and wondered if this is a ok price?
o0n8
I used FedEx freight for a cf roof cap a couple years ago. It was roughly $40 w/ insurance for about 38lbs. Dimension were roughly 6ft. by 3 3/4ft. by 6" I think. Set it up on-line, fed ex came to my house to pick it up.
Rocky31186
Make sure you have good insurance on it, I have seen MANY hoods damaged in shipping. They seemed to fight the shipping company to pay for it.
Zx2guy19
Greyhound is always how I've shipped a hood. Wrap the fuck out of it and it's like $65.

Bigfoot
I shipped a bumper to Oregon, insured for $2,000 through Pitt Ohio for $240, they were 500-1000 less than everyone else, and it arrived no issues
Shawn89
Check with old dominion. I work here and my brother had a hood shipped with them and had no issues.
Green Bastard
Do you have a shipping dock where you work? I bet if you do that you could ship it through your company at a discounted rate (at least I can where I work).
BIGGU
Grey hound will be your best price.

Littleguy
Nice, I am thinking the FD is one of the few cars that we prefer our stock/lighter hoods over the CF versions. FWIW I have used greyhound in the past for auto body parts.
carl1647545492
Absolutely. The stock hood is incredibly light about 20 lbs,the only reason I went aftermarket is for cooling, thats it, but the fitment sucks really.
gillbot
I got an entire decklid assembly shipped to me via FedEx for $100.

I should have gotten the stock hood from the previous owner but I know I'd never fit it if I tracked the car. Sucks but the cooling is necessary. Littleguy
I'm trying to figure out how to modify my extra stock hood to allow for another inch or two above my intake manifold without looking too out of place, we'll see how it goes. Not often I buy or sell big items. I will say old dominion has very low freight damage rates
BBQdDude
Greyhound FTW! Used them a few times without issue and the cost was a good price.

The carriers to stay away from in my expirence is Conway and YRC, both have a high rate of damage.
