Popular Post Zfish
Hi I'm Zach 25 years old and live in Columbus. Have a passion for working on cars and other stuff. mostly self taught and with advice from other people with experience. I took 3 quarters of automotive and AMT training at cscc but thats about it. I have a 2002 Camaro rs that I will be doing a motor swap on soon once I get my garage back in order. Recently finished rebuilding the engine in my 1948 Ford 8N. Tried to get it running last year and found it had 3 seized valves so I decided to do a rebuild. my first actually Here's some pics http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/062314203910_zpsroygavhi.jpg Stuck Valves http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/062414221449_zpsvzb6v4iz.jpg Cylinder head http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/062714110327_zpsjgxnop5a.jpg Cylinder 4 was pretty bad, later found a crack and a bit of missing material on the surface of the exhaust manifold on that cyl http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/062714110411_zpsreoybch7.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/062714110422_zpsjjj8ye9t.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/070914174619_zpswcem127m.jpg After machine shop http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/081214160911_zpsrtxwy0lc.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/081214160927_zpsntjiebra.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/081214161005_zpsjuo1g352.jpg New bearings and polished crank, had to get another set of bearings cause i was not careful and scratched one and didn't want to risk it http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/082414134315_zpsxicrxfan.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/20150120_191719_zpsbaihdaf1.jpg Made these to adjust valve lash, they hold the lifters while the adjustment screw is turned http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/20150205_192349_zps562kzzjl.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/20150205_192321_zpsdfknml1w.jpg Reattached http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/20150205_163302_zps13tdaav3.jpg This is where I am at now. Runs and drives good hydraulics are working and only 11 months later. I do have more pics of painting and sheet metal work but its a pita to get them off my phone http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/fretcleaner/20150505_194505_zpsmlomfrnp.jpg fenders still need paint but the are free of rust holes and relatively flat. front wheels too but the back wheels are pretty far gone I don't really want to waste effort on trying to make them look better. still a work in progress
