bmwohio
Hello all, After some conversations with friends and Scotty (from Legacy Industrial), I decided to go with the Legacy Industrial Nohr-S system for my 723 sq ft. garage. Here's the background on the garage and decision making process: -House was built in August of 2014 -No sealer or topcoat was applied on the floor before moving in -Floor has been used and parked on for the past year with no top coat -I wanted a system that was user friendly and had a quick cure time Here are some before pictures of me cleaning out the garage (I did this after work over the time-span of about a week). I basically moved a bunch of stuff into my house in certain room, some stuff I stored in my neighbors garage, and some was put out side under my 10x10 pop up. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/461F1FD4-F34B-4F91-9FEA-E32EFF6FE1BE_zpsqlzynvid.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/01FA874D-1742-4F15-884E-90E19B242E8F_zps0ugcgzsa.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/985FA49F-9279-4253-8999-25A9A481A747_zpsjadacsfm.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/DA1F3EE8-C10C-42F9-9202-15008746FE13_zpsjvhipjmp.jpg Once I had the garage cleared out, I rented a floor buffer with a diamabrush attachment and it took me about 8 hours to do the floor to my satisfaction. I knew that prep was VITAL for a good bond, so I made 4-7 passes in some spots with the buffer. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/55E82376-6605-463A-95C5-E569383FA03A_zpsqyw43e1w.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/BC8E1B02-8800-4341-B998-296A48CDFCA2_zpstpwdklqn.jpg Before http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/IMG_5353_zpsnz2ngm0p.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/615646BD-2413-4F49-BF96-D56AB4387F10_zpsckavd2hy.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/AFE3D585-3C55-4775-ADBA-8DEF65962033_zps2om25dkq.jpg After http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/917E6DDB-A02F-4121-ABCD-C9DD69C7C0E4_zpsjvl54ryu.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/F17933BF-54A8-4AB8-A0D2-04FB9AE337AE_zpszacx0y48.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/048F5F6C-530A-4529-9C4C-BCAF6B07ED83_zpsv6xqzy0y.jpg Needed everything off the floor, so I went ahead and had a neighbor help me build a tire rack for my race tires http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/97FDE459-E818-4445-A558-574B11FF31A0_zpsac2gqeu8.jpg I had a friend come in town for the weekend who had done a 2 part epoxy floor before and he was a HUGE help to the operation. Friday night we filled in the rest of cracks with sealant and basically did a final prep of the floor to get up bright and early on Saturday to start. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae245/bmwohio/Garage%20Pics/6D2DDA4B-A78D-461B-A8B3-02FC0D62C8B8_zpstwet4t60.jpg

HUGE thanks to Kyle for driving from Cleveland for the weekend to help me knock this out! Feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer. bmwohio
I just want to pay someone to do this for me in a 3 car garage. Wouldn't we all You're probably looking at $1000-$1500 to pay someone. A decent price would be around $6 a square foot for everything done. bmwohio
$6/sq ft so $3000 for an average 2 car and $4500 for a 3 car. Ouch. Yup, I spent $1500 on the kit from Legacy and another $150 for crack sealant and misc items. Save quite a bit doing it yourself.

SpaceGhost
Diamond grind, epoxy, chips, and clear overtop. Friend just had it done and looks like yours just more chips....
Mowgli1647545497
maybe dumb question - do the chips help with grip? is that the purpose or is it for color/pattern/dirt hiding? Does the clear coat cover most of the chips? dont know about this stuff so pardon the question

bmwohio
Diamond grind, epoxy, chips, and clear overtop. Friend just had it done and looks like yours just more chips.... Sounds like a good deal....Just make sure it's a good product. I did not do an 'over the counter' product because those are highly water based, where mine is a 72% solid and has a lifetime guarantee. maybe dumb question - do the chips help with grip? is that the purpose or is it for color/pattern/dirt hiding? Does the clear coat cover most of the chips? dont know about this stuff so pardon the question The chips are decorative, and help hid imperfections in the floor. The 'soft skid' is what helps with grip. The clear covers ALL of the chips....think of it like a polyurethane coating on a table at a bar when they put coasters or pictures in the table, it basically sandwiches/seals them in there. Great job Kale. I'm getting ready to do rust bullet on my new 2-car hopefully before the weather turns. Thanks, Chris....it completely changes the look of the garage, I can't wait to get everything into its home in there.

Jackson1647545504
Picture-wise the buffer job looks great. For mine I used the diamond cutter from Sunbelt at Lowes on Polaris. It cut/leveled/smoothed the floor and took of some really hard oil spots.
Franchi
Looks great man! I just had my garage redone this summer with a similiar kit but I went with a super heavy chip saturation mix and turned out awesome I think. Had a solid few days of cleaning / prep into it but my floor is 40 plus years old and had tons of old oil stans and cracks that needed fixed first. I'll see if I can find some of the before / after pics I took...
