Doc has imported a few cars over from noodle land and tea land, reach out to him im sure he has some insight.

Thanks.

I know all of the ins and outs, just finding a reliable broker is kinda a chore...

I cannot stand when it takes multiple days to hear back from someone I will be hiring essentially.

The broker I used was excellent but has retired.

A friend on CR recommended someone to me, but I did not have a very good experience with him. He claimed to have expertise in the field, but I found I had to walk him slowly through the basics. He was rather secretive about his costs, and in the end, couldn't deliver on his promises. When he stopped communicating (for weeks) on a bid he was supposed to place for me in an auction, his only excuse was that he does taxes on the side and he's been busy because it's tax season. :yuno:

There are a couple of JDM importers in Virginia that people on CR have used and were satisfied with. The advantage to that is you can inspect the car in person, and it's already imported and legally titled. BIGGU on here had a good experience getting his Soarer, and I'm sure he can give you his broker's info if you PM him.

The happy ending for me was that my old broker who had retired did me a solid and found a suitable car for me, which he is importing now. I had been looking for over 6 months for a Figaro to import under the 25 year rule. "Figgy" should be here in about 4 weeks:

That has been my experience too, basically having to walk these people through everything..

I don't need them to source any cars, I have contacts in two countries. Just need to have all the customs paperwork dealt with, and go through the bond process.

Fiagros rock!

Awesome looking Doc. What's that based on, who makes it? Same company as your Viewt? Just assuming since it looks to be Nissan based.

Any plans with it?

Nissan.

Super cool.

Made by Nissan, but it does not say Nissan anywhere but on the motor.

Based on the K10 Micra, whereas the Mitsuoka Viewt is based on K11 and newer.

It's registered for the Rally North America summer event, which means it's going to be driven across the U.S. It needs a few cosmetics freshened-up. It's 25 years old with over 60k miles.
