POS VETT
So, the merit of a coilover is determined by its color, enough to spend more money to powdercoat ...
Smokey
If you really bought them from Amazon, then you can return them without cost to you. I wouldn't expect Godspeed to do crap about it though so only return them if you're going to buy something else. Otherwise chalk it up as a learning experience on buying budget items and move on. As mentioned nobody will see them once on the car.
Gergwheel1647545492
put them on the car, after DD'ing it for 1k miles they will not be that nice shiny color anymore.

Second Gen
put them on the car, after DD'ing it for 1k miles they will not be that nice shiny color anymore. Not true (Except some dirt). My Apexi N1's were on the ReX for a couple years (10K plus miles) and outside the Goodrich brakes lines scratching one they still looked cool. http://www.irperformance.com/shop/product/mazda/apexi-exv-n1-coilovers-93-rx-7/

ShowHBK
***UPDATE*** small victory for myself today with replacing the coolant bottle. No more coolant light on my dash. Next weekend is plugs and coils the tricky part was a small hose under the bottle that is connected to the radiator. I had been told if I put to much tension on the hose then it would break off the radiator and then the radiator would need to be replaced. took me a little while to get the angle right but it fit in perfect with no issues. out with the old: http://i.imgur.com/7nQ105q.jpg in with the new!: http://i.imgur.com/owMkIkI.jpg

ShowHBK
hmm... these things were fucked! Halo or white outlines on coil packs is never good. Big thanks to TheMrWes for letting me use his garage to do the work.
ShowHBK
buuuuuuuuuuuut, Now I have a CEL on the dash for P0507 after the plug and coil change. Car jumps the 3k RPM on start and does something a little weird when it comes down to idle. This is my post on RX8Club I recently replaced my spark plugs, coils, and leads over the weekend and everything went great. I started the car up with no problems and drove her around the block and noticed a bit more pep in the acceleration, probably from the new plugs and coils. But something was a bit odd when I put the car in neutral, She seemed to jump a bit before settling down to idle (maybe a 200-350 RPM jump). No CEL at the time... I drove around a bit that night to let the car run a bit and while at a red light my CEL came on. I pulled over right away and pulled out the old OBDII and got the code P0507 (Idle Air Control (IAC) System RPM Higher Than Expected). I thought maybe it was simply just a vacuum leak and me being stupid forgot to plug a hose back in when I put everything back together. Thinking logically, I took the air box out, accordion, and the throttle body only to find that every hose was on good and tight. All the coil packs are snug and nothing seems to be damaged, but i'm no expert. Here is a video of what I am experiencing. All I am doing in the video is pressing the gas for a moment to demonstrate the little jump that is causing my CEL The weird thing is that the car has 0 problems with everything, including the idle. She will accelerate a LOT faster then before and chilling at idle is no problem either. it is only when I tap the gas, or the car is coming down to idle when I go into neutral. I don't down shift and normally just throw the car out of gear when I come to a stop light... any ideas as to what is causing this? I found a guy on "This Page of RX8club" having a similar issue to mine, but he never seemed to get a reply from what I saw. TL;DR I replaced spark plugs, coils, and leads. As a result of "something" my idle now jumps a little before settling down, which is causing a CEL to throw up. I have a video and OBDII Data recordings of the issue. What have I done so far to attempt to fix the issue? 1. traced my steps back and disassemble the Air box, take out the accordion, and inspect the throttle body. 2. Cleared the code, thinking maybe the car just needed a few cycles/runs to re-learn how to idle? 3. stomped on the brake 20 times What else I think I can do? Have the car relearn its idle? but how? Are the plugs bad? i'm almost 100% sure there is no vacuum leak anywhere I also notice the car jumps to 3000 RPM after I turn the key, and it only used to go to 2000 - 2100 RPM with the old plugs. Trouble Maker
your poor parents. You'll be living there until they die. Yeah, the bull shit about millennials not being able to afford to move out is funny. Anyone I know in that age range that should have moved out by now but haven't says they can't afford it and spend their money very, very poorly. then it becomes my house... its a win, win really (Kappa) And you'll still never move out of their basement.
