Grudes
I have an opportunity to buy a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with 88k miles for a really good price. I don't know much about them so any input would be appreciated. Thanks
Geeto67
I say do it. 420 hp and full time 4wd, its like an overgrown rally car. Only thing I have ever heard about them is trans issues with them not shifting. Buddy had one that went into "limp mode" once a week. Wasn't something wrong with the trans itself, just some sensor issues.
Rocky31186
I definitely miss mine. I have a friend selling a show room condition black 07 with 40k miles. I never had trans issues until I added the blower and did 20 rolls, and AWD burn outs. Around 500 whp on the dyno
Rocky31186
I sold my 06 with 80k miles. http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy296/rocky31186/Mobile%20Uploads/20131117_131552_zpswlb3r9yx.jpg
2 Sweet
I always thought the wheel arches on those looked funny, like giant isosceles trapezoids or something. Idk, I'm weird I guess. http://images.mautofied.com/adphotos/10060130_2012925191320.jpg Depending on the "really good price" I would definitely consider it, they are cool vehicles. TTQ B4U
Makes cool V8 sounds and is quick but overall looks dated. Depends on what you're looking to have.
99StockGT
+1 for Muscle Jeep Everyone I've known who has owned one loved it, even if they had some issues here and there. Just too fun and utilitarian of a ride to hate.

Everyone I have ever seen has been black or dark gray, looks best in those colors. supposed to kick the crap out of a trailblazer SS stock for stock. Grudes
That white definitely looks bad, to me anyway. This one is red. BloodRed
I have always wanted one to have some fun with.
Mallard
Sometimes I wish SRT's didn't hold their value so well. I would really like a 6.4L for about that price. Still fun to drive, sucks a lot if gas. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
oh8sti
What is a "good price" on this car to you?
gillbot
I still want one. If I hadn't got my challenger, it was next on the list. Depending on what work does about my truck, I may still be in for one.
Grudes
What is a "good price" on this car to you? I cant say exactly what the price is because its from the Dealership I work for, but its at the dealerships cost.
zeitgeist57
I passed one driving slowly in the left lane on I-71. I like the idea of the GCSRT8, but would it be a DD? I'd guess the fuel economy would be abysmal.
Grudes
It probably would be a DD. They are rated at 14 city and 20 highway, but the way I would drive it...

Darkside
I've got an 06 in the same color with 56k miles. Great truck, can't see myself ever selling it. Driving calmly in rural areas I get 17mpg which surprised me. I don't think you can go wrong, their asking price is a great deal already. 1Quik7
I still want one as a DD...but if you are looking for a 'toy'...I'd look elsewhere, it was kinda boring and bland after the first initial charge to 60. They shoulda put a 6spd in these.

Holding 50% of its value after 10 years is pretty good. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
Grudes
They were going to sell it to me for ~16K. I went and test drove it and immediately found problems with the drive train, rear diff howling, a shutter at about half pedal and a clunking noise in the center diff. So I am going to pass on this one.

Rocky31186
Howling is normal.. if you turn traction control off it stops. Other issues is probably the front diff bushing also common. None of which are big issues.
