Finally found a replacement for the turbo, holding out for exactly the color combo we wanted was worth it in the end despite me almost caving on a couple of instances and getting something different.

 

2011 Turbo S. Almost every option possible except rear aerokit wing.

 

Current mods - GMG springs, 20" HRE wheels and Sharkwerks "exhaust" (muffler bypass). Going to be able to put the champion intercoolers off the old car on there, will be tuned with Cobb Accessport, and need to do something about those 600 cell factory cats to really open it up.

 

All in good time though, for now we'll give it a couple weeks stock power before I start to turn it up.

I think the cell phone pics are making the color a little bit lighter than it really is in person.

 

It's traditional Guards Red that's been a Porsche staple for years and years.

 

I'm interested to see how the wheels look once I lower it a little bit more and close up that wheel gap just a touch more. I have the factory 19's for the car too.

Ah, yeah the pics are playing tricks with the color. I thought it was something like the orange pearl color Byers has on a 991 on their lot. not a big fan of it.

 

Guards looks fantastic. The wheels look much better than OEM IMO, lowering will help a great deal.

Congrats Andy! So this is your car or your wifes? I only ask as I still see the yellow one in your sig and the plate on the red one....I thought was yours?

 

I'm all messed up I know but always trying to keep who drives what straight. :)

yup...she got up early to take the long way to work this morning in it.

 

Very cool!. So does the yellow one have red calipers?

 

Red calipers = steel brakes

Yellow calipers = carbon ceramic brakes

uhhh...I just don't have plates for the car yet so since the GT3 is going to Mid Ohio this weekend we "borrowed" the plates off of it for a couple of days.

I LOVE this car. Where did you guys end up finding it?

 

Really liking the wheel option/color on this car. The painted backs of the seats is a nice touch too.

 

Car came out of Vegas. It was actually not on the market. I knew of the car and knew it was what we wanted and tracked it down and convinced the guy to sell it to me.

Thought all 997.2 turbos were pdk.

 

It's PDK. All Turbo S cars are PDK. you could get a 997.2 turbo in manual but they are pretty difficult to find.

 

The PDK thing was the toughest decision for me but honestly it's the best fit for a car that we intend to be 95% street car and driven by my wife on a regular basis. Not to take anything away from her she's a fairly talented driver and has tracked the GT3 and her old turbo 6 speed numerous times, but in the end if I'm being brutally honest the PDK is the right fit here.

 

Launch control is pretty darn ridiculous too.
