Diamonds
TacPack crew looking to go back in time to the 1960's with something cool as a weekend cruiser. Came here for suggestions. Budget is 15k. Looking for something that is a driver. Would love a charger or GTO. But will consider other cool cars. Criteria: Made in the 60's, can stretch to the 70's if it's cool. Must be able to strike a deal at under 15,001 which means "list prices of no more than 17-18k. Any trans works Any doors works Don't want a project, car should be solid with a "good enough" paint job. Feel free to post up ads you know of too, free TacPack shit if we buy it. I've cruised Craigslist. Where else should I look? Also, understand that I think chargers and other coupes are just as cool as caddies and other cool 4 door cars. Heck, even old corvettes are cool to me.
99StockGT
This just going to be for some driving about with chest hair out? Or looking for something to roll to shows/events and such? Also, what kind of time frame? For 15k should be able to pick up a pretty decent driver, or take something a little hurt and make it fun. turbospec29
My quick Craigslist search. Are you after more looks of a muscle car or sound? You can find some clean "small motor" small v8 or even 6 cylinder older cars that will have the look, but to me nothing draws attention better than a rowdy big block pulling into a parking lot. Also, I like to use searchtempest to look for stuff on all craigslist when looking for cars, boats, bikes, ect. Pretty sure you know of it though. https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5709323734.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5697569277.html https://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/5735471036.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5726938169.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5691133643.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5731018157.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5724483492.html https://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/5670514164.html

99StockGT
In the spirit of tactical I would say pick something from the big players that scream America! Nothing wrong with some of the less main stream but, Mustang, Cutlass, GTO, Camaro, El Co all kind of fit the image for me..
Diamonds
In the spirit of tactical I would say pick something from the big players that scream America! Nothing wrong with some of the less main stream but, Mustang, Cutlass, GTO, Camaro, El Co all kind of fit the image for me.. I hear what you are saying but that is not a concern. People scratched their heads when we bought the R8 and wondered why we didn't buy an H1. We are okay with being different! We want to be one step ahead of the obvious. I'm not saying to leave those options out. But, we are okay with going beyond those!
99StockGT
Well, that and the H1s are general terrible vehicles for civilian life. Although as a date night car.. there is a LOT of room in them...
BigOxley
What about a old Land Cruiser? There's one sitting for sale in front of the parking lot of the old giant eagle on 5th Ave. near Grandview Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Geeto67
this would be the one I would buy....but I am a little biased: https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5726938169.html I am more partial to metallic blue however...nothing says 60's muscle car like a metallic medium blue: https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/5688006461.html If you want an earlier body style: https://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/5722365734.html I owned a sprint 6 - its as fast as any small bore pontiac v8 (326,350, etc). Its a real dare to be different kinda rod and you can make all sorts of "six shooter" jokes and puns too. I used to know a guy who was able to pull 500hp out of one with a turbo. I'm sure the other more experienced photo people here will chime in but if you primary business use for the car is photographs, you may want to look for light or medium colors. No dark grays, blacks, or midnight blues as they are much harder to photograph. if you still want to try though these are nice: https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/ctd/5716846635.html https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/5732306824.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5733763390.html The problem with "real" muscle cars, vs clones, as usually they are $20K to start. However if you are willing to consider early 442s and Buick GS's you cna get closer to your budget: https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/5727412429.html https://eastky.craigslist.org/cto/5715812607.html Edited August 17, 2016 by Geeto67
El Karacho1647545492
As Kerry above me said, my immediate thought for a slightly cheaper option was an Olds Cutlass. 442s can be steep for what you get since it's not the pedigree of a GTO, but if its more for the business than what you would want to own long term, just find a Cutlass Supreme 442 clone. Well within budget, same look you're going for. http://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/5720664165.html
Skinner
If you want to be different http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/5723191142.html Also look at Jeep Wagoners. http://westcountyexplorersclub.com.s182622.gridserver.com/wpwuwei/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/jeep-marine1.jpg As for Chevy I would look at El Camino, chevy II, or even a split bumper Camaro if you do go into the 70s. Also a Bronco or Blazer would be fun.
Geeto67
I forgot to add but a couple of cars that rarely gets the same love as a GM A-body but has all the same shapes and noises is the 1966-67 Ford Fairlane GTA and the 1968-69 torino GT: https://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/5662975718.html https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/5696932590.html https://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/5701686516.html Personally I would rather have a GM a-body because it's a better chassis (coil spring vs leaf spring), but these are real deal muscle cars with 390 ci engines. the movie Grand Torino and FF5 made the 1972 body style popular: https://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/cto/5660424730.html There is also the "Off brand" cars like Mercury as well: https://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/5732469755.html I don't really like mopar because they are unibody cars and rust compromises them, but so are F body camaros and mustangs. Well that's useful to know the shame of it is that it's a 1965 fairlane, which is like the most boring fairlane made. more interesting wagons: https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/5732085376.html https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/5723905425.html https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/5723743825.html https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/5733649013.html https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5723590682.html https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/5704520060.html this however is my favorite: https://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/5699488150.html
