Guy I work with is leaving to start his own business. He will be the exclusive importer of Conqueror overlander trailers. Really cool product, and thought some people here might be interested; I know I've seen some of their product videos running around the inter-webs previously, maybe posted here.

They are taking orders now and the first shipment are on their way here. They will have displays in their show room in Bellefontaine in late September to early October.

honestly.....I was expecting them to cost a lot more than that. I'm sure they will sell and they look well built. Kind of a small niche group it's targeted towards but people will buy it I'm sure. I'm too spoiled for something like that. I'll stick with my 5er. :D

Yeah, definitely pricey, but if it's the only thing that will do what you want to do, it's what you have to pay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXbsK18NaRU&t=0m17s

The packaging in this product is very cool too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpKGm3TC5jc&t=2m56s

  • 3 weeks later...

They have pricing up for some of the smaller ones. Definitely more in the realm of attainable for many more people.

UEV310, the smallest one, has an 'introductory' base price of $17.8k, dry weight of just a hair over 1klbs. The weight opens up a lot too. You could put quite a bit in it and tow it with a 2 door Rubicon, which IIRC has a 2klb tow limit. http://conqueror4x4usa.com/index.php/products-north-american-off-road-camper-trailers/uev-310/

So I have never really understood expensive overlander stuff. The point of this is to get away from everything right? So why do people immediately try to take everything with them when doing it? So I have been looking to build a trailer to keep interior space open in the Jeep for people, and I instantly run out of things I would put it the trailer.

Tires

Axles

Water

Food

Gas

No bed, no kitchen, you are supposed to be out in nature. Not spending time in your outfitted campsite

Sorry Jesse off topic

Add some good recovery equipment on that list.

I think the ease of setup of this stuff would be a huge plus. I think camp would be setup much quicker when you got to the next way-point than with all stand alone stuff in a trailer. Plus the packaging is really nice.

Does anyone make just a box trailer to throw stuff in that is designed for off-road use?

Eh, whatever floats your boat and you think works. There seems to be a pretty big market for this type of thing.

Recovery stuff is on the Jeep

I looked for trailers and I did find the guys who make the military trailers has one but again ridiculously expensive. I think it is just easier to build one. Springs to get it off the ground. I am going to run the same tires that I run on the Jeep so I have extras already built into the trailer without wasting as much space. Then have an offroad trailer hitch to let it articulate around and I think you would have what you needed. I have the trailer to start it once I do I will see what works for if you need a roof or if you can leave it open. If you keep the amenities down the less you would need for it.

No kitchen because new MRE's are DELICIOUS

No bathroom because slit trenches are everywhere.

No beds or tent because I have a sleeping pad and poncho
