Mace1647545504
I have a 99 olds , while drive last week to hit the freeway (about 2 miles away) the car begins to sputter then dies, car would not restart. Get a GC cop to push it out of the way and wait for a tow. When the truck get there it starts but really won't run. I figure fuel pump, so I put a new one in. Take it on the 2 miles down the road it sputters and dies. Again it won't restart, wait for a tow but it still won't start. So what do you think..ICM? I changed the fuel filter about 4 years ago. Ideas?? Thanks mace
STEVE-O
Codes? If it's misfiring id check the cps
Dharris89
Maybe check the filter and make sure it didn't suck some crap off the tank bottom? Maybe a clogged catalytic converter?

Mace1647545504
I don't know if I'd call it a misfire as much as it is a sputter then die

Mace1647545504
Well the final answer is it was a frayed wire that would get hot and short out the pump. Thank all of you for the help have a good day mace
