nurkvinny
So, my Tahoe endured today's rain with the passenger window down (facing the rain). Do i start pulling pad and carpet and replace, throw a dehumidifier in there (I have 2), take to pros??? http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=5&pictureid=8874
vonrottes
I mean.... if it wasn't so damn humid just roll the windows down and let the sun bake it.. lol but for real, shop-vac as much excess water as possible and probably just put a dehumidifier in it
nurkvinny
Yeah, doors and hatch opened... with the 90 degree, 99% humidity breeze floating thru, lol.
Cordell
Ideally you'd pull the carpet and dry it out so it doesn't mildew, either way it's a real bite in the ass.
Not Brian
Man I had the t-tops off on my ws6 years ago.. was a nice sunny day. Went inside for like an hour and out of nowhere it poured, then was sunny again. Came outside and shop-vacced the entire fucking car. Pretty much got it all. Went back inside and it happened again. Raged so hard.
Geeesammy
Pull the interior and let it dry or live with the stink
Geeto67
Can you borrow a carpet cleaner? My home unit has a separate attachment that you can use to do cars, something like that would suck out 80-90% of the water.
nurkvinny
I do have a hd carpet cleaner with attachments
cdk 4219
Foam carpet underlay will hold water for months, no carpet sucker will remove that.pull carpet corners up and feel for moisture, mold will start quickly
cstmg8
I agree that I'd remove what I can with a shop vac or extractor, then run the dehumidifiers in there for a couple days. If you can lift the carpet in a few areas to allow some airflow, it'll do wonders. Possibly invest in some mold inhibitor spray to hit it with. A fan blowing under an edge of the carpet would help. nurkvinny
I think we'll be alright. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=5&pictureid=8875
RedRocket1647545505
Left my moon roof open over night on my truck one time. Came back to a cab filled with water. Lots of shop vacing and left it out in the baking sun. Did just fine.
