I was considering finally making the jump from the 360 to a one, but now i see there are three versions.. and one is "discontinued"

I dont play consoles.. it would be for family use- we are not "keeping up with the jones" type gamers (well he isnt at least) so.. can i get away with buying the "discontinued" version?

There are 3 versions.

Xbox One: 1080p, poopy garbage but only like a hundred bucks on craigslist

Xbox One S: Upscales to 4k through anti-aliasing mumbo jumbo - basically fake 4k. Same'ish dated hardware so expect 30fps at best.

Xbox One X: Higher horsepower, true 4k, 60fps (claimed), but $500

If you've been fine with your xbox 360 i'd think you'd be fine with the cheapest xbox one you can find

The One S will do legitimate 4k streaming, and plays 4k Blu-rays. If that's of any interest to you, at least get that model.

Well that helps me a lot :)

I dont care too much about the 4K stuff.. just want him to be able t play the new games.
