Lauren
Some pictures. This Ferrari was a flood car. Engine out next to the car being rebuilt by the owner. Its all owners who come in and do there own work. Lots of race cars. There was an amazing gt3 e30 m3 that I guess is quite famous. One corner was a guy who does full restore to classic cars. There's a air condition trailer for guys to go Inside and cool off and watch TV. Warehouse is like 25 mins from barber motorsports track Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk
zeitgeist57
Am I just getting used to the pics, or were the last couple actually clearer? If someone gave me a flooded 308, I'd strip it down to the shell and rewire/replace EEEVVERRRYTHIIIINNGG. What a nightmare... '80s flood-title Ferrari...Harbor Freight tools. Geeto67
Am I just getting used to the pics, or were the last couple actually clearer? I don't actually think the phone takes bad pictures, but the lens probably hasn't been cleaned in forever and a day so any big sources of light just come out as bright smears blurring everything. Lauren
BTW the owner was asking $5000 for the 2002. We settled at a price of $2200 where he lost but felt OK. I've messaged him that I'll take it. Arranging final inspection and towing later today.
Otis Nice
It's later today. Did it work out for ya? The FJ and those trucks... :megusta:
Lauren
It's later today. Did it work out for ya? The FJ and those trucks... :megusta: Yes and I took over his spot in the warehouse. So for now I'm going to work on it and get it driving and cleaned up at the warehouse before I drive it home. My two car garage is full and my driveway is full so I really can't bring it home until my.brother in law gets his mini out of my garage

Lauren
So put it up on the lift today to get w feel for everything. Its extremely clean underneath. Saturday I'm going to put the weber on and take it for a spin. Here's some pics of the shock towers and areas that typically rust in these cars. This car shows no sign of rust. Geeto67
Based just on the pics it looks like that car is shockingly solid. Looks like you got a really good deal.

Lauren
So out side pictures. The hood isn't latched that's why the moulding is off. Drivers door moulding is en route. Picked these wheels up locally for $75..gonna roll with them for the time being until I decide on a nicer set up Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk
Forrest Gump 9
Lol, I just sold my 280zx for $5k so I thought I offer that. That thing is good, but it’s way too ugly
iwashmycar
You get a new phone too? Shame the deck lid is chipped off like that. Would be kind of a nice overall patina otherwise.
-Alex-
Those $75 wheels are a great way to make it look like a $2000 car.
Lauren
Its going to get stripped completely and painted. Thinking Inka orange to keep it original but part of my wants to do Laguna seca or Porsche macadamia metallic. I'd prob kill any resale going with a non origanl color. Otis Nice
Sticking with orig colors my votes are (in no particular order): Agave Baikal Schwarz That's just my opinion and it isn't worth much but I dig those. Grabber blue is one of my all time fav colors on any vehicle. I think any of the choices you like are fine. You got the car so damn cheap that a complete respray of ALMOST any color can only help the value IMO.

Lauren
Not a big fan of Schwartz. Colorado Inks Agave Mintgrun Florida Nevada are my favorites. Of course the 2002 purist are telling me non OEM color.

Of course the 2002 purist are telling me non OEM color. I respect that we have VERY diff opinions. I saw Mintgrun, Florida, and Nevada (and some others), and thought, "damn....NOBODY would want that!" To each their own. That's what makes the world unique or whatever. ....grabber blue. :gabe:
Geeto67
Its going to get stripped completely and painted. Thinking Inka orange to keep it original but part of my wants to do Laguna seca or Porsche macadamia metallic. I'd prob kill any resale going with a non origanl color. If you don't want to kill resale, Paint it the original color that is on the car now (Rubinrot, I believe). Color swapped 2002s are a literal fortune to do correctly because everyone expects the jambs and engine bay and trunk to match. painting it the original red will mean you get to save on the jambs and trunk and engine bay plus you don't have to buy new warning stickers and everything. I'm telling you, paint the exterior the same color it is now, steam clean the engine bay and trunk, clean up the interior and put it on bring a trailer for $15k as an original "survivor" with cosmetic touch ups and watch the bids roll in E30 bottle cap wheels are a direct fit, cheap, and look factory while increasing tire size and options (14x6 for the e30 vs 13x5 for the '02). I had them on mine and you couldn't tell they weren't stock. I don't like those wheels you bought because they are too "boy racer" Edited September 21, 2018 by Geeto67
