mugen
My 17yr old son is getting into cars and is interested in working at a dealership. Preferably near sawmill rd. Email me at justmkeys@yahoo.com if you have any leads. Thanks!!
Cordell
Don’t know your 17 year old’s availability because most dealerships only hire fulltime employees, very few exceptions are made for porters and wash bay. I know we need a few entry level lube techs and possibly porters at Dan Tobin, but I don’t think we hire under 18.
STEVE-O
What job at the dealership is he interested in?
carl1647545492
No leads...but Is he open to applying in person? or on the phone ? A higher end dealer would look good on the resume and he may luck out into a good gig where he could build. Let us know how he gets on. POS VETT
Try Toyota Direct. It's quite a distance from Sawmill Rd area if he's willing to commute.
Versluis
I worked at Crown Jeep at that age and LOVED it. I was just a porter, ran cars through wash, was told to drive the car to see if the issue was fixed, wash them, dealer trades, etc. It was a lot of fun and was good hours after school as they closed at a reasonable time. aussiek2000
At 17 he is going to be a wash boy or porter. Maybe a lube guy depending on dealer. Nothing wrong with that though, changing oil is how I got my feet wet. 7 years later, I'm making 6 figures as a line tech.
nurkvinny
Good for him. I started turning wrenches for money at 14 ( family garage). Earned play money and kept me mostly out of trouble .
Geeesammy
Let him get in with an indy shop helping with keeping the shop clean first, then once he is out of school get him into a dealer.
mugen
Thanks for all the responses! most of all the leads we looked into, would only hire 18+ so Chipotle it is for now. Thanks again!!
blue98ls1
My son also wants to be a mechanic too. He is 17 and is working at a Jiffy lube. May want to check out any of your local quick service oil change places. Auto parts stores may also be an option.
