this is prob a bad idea but...

in a few weeks im looking to do a -1/+2 gear. iv heard motomummy is a good place to buy parts from. i just want to know if this is the right stuff i need before i go and buy stuff and its not right. also i need to know how many teeth in both sprockets front and rear and how many links on the chain. so this is what ill need for a -1/+2?

i have the 520 conversion kit on mine. not that big of gains in torque/low end power. does make it a pain on the highway. get annoying screaming at 6-7 rpms going 65-70. i bought the sprocket specialist superlight chain kit.i bought it mainly cause i was going to buy a new gold chain and black sprockets. if you dont do a lot of highway riding, go for it. corey at mummy is great to work with. get your gdc discount. the bike will wheelie with ease stock. dont be afraid to twist the throttle or dump it

Someone's gotta post the picture of the ground up swingarm from the missing spacer... I love that picture.

@jcoz:Why not go up one at a time? go up 2 in the back and ride it out to see if you're good with it then go -1 and a new chain?

Someone's gonna say "you should replace them all at the same time" but meh, I'll let a mechanic chime in

Yep :lol:But really what are you trying to achieve?

i just want a little more tq low end. obviously bikes have enough top end.

but i dont want it to be obnoxious riding at 45mph. cause 97% of the time im on side streets not highways and my shitty 2 bro's exhaust is already too loud.

i had no idea it was possible to do only do a -1 in front OR a +1 or 2 in the back. but i guess id rather do it all at once so i dont have to buy 2 chains?

or lets say i did a -1 first with a new chain. and later wanted to do a +1 in the back. i wouldnt need a new chain would i?

You only need a new chain if the amount of slack is significantly changing..... so it's possible you COULD have enough chain to change both sprockets but you really need to know all your info first (like your current sprockets and chain and how far you are on your tension adjustment)

but yes, you can change one at a time... I had planned to change just my rear to lower highway rpms a little but I decided it's liveable for me (scottb, bad, jbc and kosmo likely have a diffferent opinion on if it's tolerable :))
