Likwid
RCA 3 cable can't transmit high def... 5 cable can I believe.I've used HDMI since I got mine and I thought it was great!
vroddave
oh it makes a big diff.rca's not hd. you also need to adjust the settings in your ps3 menu to get the hd pic.
MattKatz
HDMI Cables are worth it on just about everything equipped with it IMO.Especially with the costs of the cables being so reasonable now online.
MattKatz
RCA is a type of connection BTW, with a single Video input, the 5 cable, or Component as its called, has seperate RGB(Red,Green,Blue) Cables which are pretty damn nice pics as well. JonS
I think those cheap RCAs do like 480p (or i)You'll need to get component (5 cable) or HDMI for high def
Harb67
What is the maximum resolution supported by your TV? If it's a 1080p set, you want an HDMI cable. HDMI is the only thing that'll get 1080p resolution out of your system, and it makes a huge difference vs 1080i or 720p, especially in Blu-Ray movies. Most people think HDMI cables are super expensive thanks to marketing bullshit from companies like Best Buy and Monster Cable (NEVER buy a Monster Cable product). However, if you actually know what you're doing, they're really not at all expensive. Something like this will give you the same performance as the 80$ cable Best Buy probably tried to sell you when you bought the TV at a fraction of the price. If you need a different length, click here and scroll about halfway down the page till you get to the section titled "28AWG HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Male to Male Cables"; those are the ones you want. The ones rated for in-wall installation are more expensive due to the shielding required and aren't needed unless you're doing some major electrical work. ohdaho
Wow youre not doing your PS3 any just at all if youre not running HDMI cables. I bought all of my cables for my entertainment system through monoprice.com. Best cables for the price out there.
Benyen Soljax
what cables you use depend on the resolution of the TV, but since you have that big plasma, its probably 720 or 1080, so you need some HDMI. the PS3 will always look shitty on a shitty tv. Likwid
I find it RETARDED they don't include HDMI cables with the PS3.... I couldn't believe I had to buy a cable with the device... but such is the standard now it seems.
