Likwid
http://consumerist.com/2009/12/30-day-window-to-cancel-sprint-without-penalty-starts-tomorrow.htmlMake sure if you cancel you have them note your account not immediately cancel, otherwise porting becomes a pain. dmagicglock
beware if you pay your bill with the new charge on it, prior to porting, its essentially you agreeing to the new regulatory fee and they'll charge you that ETF.
jporter12
This has a LOT of discussion on slickdeals.net, and some have used it as leverage to get a deal on a new phone. I'm thinking about doing the same, but I'm waiting until after CES to see what's coming out from the big S.
Pedro
I used this same tactic back in January of 2009 to get out of my Sprint contract termination fee free.
Gump
Are we talking about a 20 cent increase for each line?

Likwid
Not sure, but you'll be able to get multiple lines out if you want... or just single lines.
Gump
Well this is a good escape route if the 50 some lines i just transfered to Sprint from Verizon doesn't work out. We got a $100 from Sprint for each line ported. Put's around $4000 in the companies pocket. I like the services so far. I watched both a Verizon and a Sprint phone for 450 miles today and they really have identical service. There business plan is the best. Likwid
Sprint/Verizon are both CDMA... you'll find identical service between them.ATT/Alltel/etc are GSM so you'd likely only notice a difference if you were switching to/from a GSM carrier. Gump
That makes sense.
MidgetTodd
My personal phone is Verizon , my work phone is a Sprint/Nextel . The Verizon works far better they both seem to be the same when Im on or near big cities , interstates , hiways ect. When I get out to small towns , twisty county roads , woods , hunting areas , ATV areas ect is when it becomes odivious Verizon has far more coverage. Alot of the state forests and state parks that we ride in nothing but Verizon works and usually has a full signal too .
