Here's a link showing video of Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luge slider competing at the Vancouver Olympics, who died today after crashing during a training run. CLICK

Look at the speeds these guys are reaching and no protection if you don't slide into that last turn properly. RIP

i think it's important to note he wasn't competing, he was doing practice runs! that sucks. no disrepsect, but why the hell is this a sport? it's not like inner tube water sliding is a summer sport.

Snowball fighting almost made it into the olympics!

What's crazier is the skeletin races... luge head first on your stomach... we used to do that too, on sleds... until you wiped out once...

Did anybody read the comments on the vid? Fuckin hilarious reading what the Canadian and American mouth breathers have to say to each other.

I'm not surprised the IOC/Georgia is trying to censor the media. While I maintain it is journalistic integrity that should REQUIRE the video be available it's quite possibly very bad taste.

That being said, without the publicity and outcry would the safety measures have been put in place?
