SJC1000rr
Wanting to see if anyone in the Columbus area has a chain tool for a rivet. I'm wanting to really finish up the bike this week if possible and I'm down to sprockets and the chain.I contacted Chris Calv but hes tied up with work till next week, so my alternative is to wait another week before getting this done. Willing to bring the bike to you and pay for use of the tool!
SJC1000rr
I can do that and free beer included! But work till 3pm at OSU is the downside.

magley64
it's only a 2 hour trip or so....Fact! (well, actually more like 3) but who's counting?might cost him less to buy one himself than the gas to come up here and get it, and then to return it. RFM
It's a very easy job, and the tool isn't too expensive. You find one, and I can help you with it.

yotaman88210
You should never try to push the pin out with the tool. All youre going to do it break tips. You pretty much have to use a grinder!

You pretty much have to use a grinder!yessss... at least grind the heads off the two pins, then you can push them out.Anything less will most likely break the tool. John
yea def. gotta grind the heads off to push out the pins or you will break your tool. i learned that the hard way.honestly though, i dont even mess with pressing out pins any more. always just put on the cut off wheel and cut straight through the chain. quick and easy. also it makes a bunch of cool sparks.
