modular
Since I was unhappy with the results of the rear fender delete I wanted to incorporate the rear tail section. I really did not want to go full-on Cafe seat so I finally just cut up the stock seat and moved the things forward. 3 hours in the garage today and here is what I ended up with (some before and after shots). Now i need a smaller tail light. Before:After:

OsuMj
looks good! that was only 3 hours?
modular
Yup, started at 10am and finished around 1pm today.....then went for a 2 hour ride. It was a lot easier than I was expecting it to be, really. I like "modified" but I try to re-use the stock parts if possible.
magley64
you could make a custom back plate and put something like this in there... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Red-Oval-6-LED-Stop-Tail-Turn-Lights-Chrome-Grommets_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5190b46d0bQQitemZ350320094475QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
modular
I was thinking about a Vera-Light but not convinced a LED light would look right on a vintage cycle. I ordered up a 4" Lucas Style tail light. It has the same general shape as the factory light but about 1/3 the size. Well see how that looks. modular
Re-worked the seat foam a little to match up with the tail section better and installed a tidier 4" Lucas tail light today. Here are the results...

modular
That stock light on there was like having the Hubble telescope bolted on...I hated it but had to find just the right tail light to replace it. I am pleased with the way it came out.
