Modified Stock Seat....Garage Project

modular

Recommended Posts

Since I was unhappy with the results of the rear fender delete I wanted to incorporate the rear tail section. I really did not want to go full-on Cafe seat so I finally just cut up the stock seat and moved the things forward. 3 hours in the garage today and here is what I ended up with (some before and after shots). Now i need a smaller tail light.

Yup, started at 10am and finished around 1pm today.....then went for a 2 hour ride. It was a lot easier than I was expecting it to be, really. I like "modified" but I try to re-use the stock parts if possible.

I was thinking about a Vera-Light but not convinced a LED light would look right on a vintage cycle. I ordered up a 4" Lucas Style tail light. It has the same general shape as the factory light but about 1/3 the size. Well see how that looks.

  • 2 weeks later...

That stock light on there was like having the Hubble telescope bolted on...I hated it but had to find just the right tail light to replace it. I am pleased with the way it came out.
