He reminds me of these guys I saw in Chicago at a conference. They performed live for the party at the end of week. They also had a young spanish women (a very attractive one as well) singing, mostly in Spanish. It's not the kind of live music I would normally pick, but they were pretty amazing.

I've watched every one of this guys youtube videos he is amazing.

The best guitar player to ever live is Randy Rhodes. No contest. Zakk Wylde has huge natural talent and can play amazing even when wasted, Buckethead has amazing technical skill, Eddie Van Halen was an innovator, and David Gilmore was smooth as glass.

Ummm Pete Townshend is a petaphile dude. He was arrested for child porn on his computer then when confronted with it he said he was doing "research" on trying to stop it. 0 respect for a dude that likes 8 your old boys asses

Anyway, welcome to 2003. Nice op-ed piece you posted - been taking lessons from Jrmiii or something?

If you think Randy Rhodes is the best guitar player ever, I'm not surprised that you "respect" Jrmiii.

It's your "opinion" that Townshend "bought" his way out of a conviction. At any rate, it doesnt affect his musical abilities one bit. Quite frankly, I could give a shit what people do in their free time - drugs, sheep, little boys. These people aren't role models - they're fucking musicians.

A "few" years ago? Christ, the guy's like 70 - what did you expect? By the way, a baseball stadium isn't exactly the best place for a concert. Of course, seeing who you count among the "best" I'm not surprised that you didn't get it.

The sounds get really awesome when you hire a bass player and a dude to bang on the drums. Some people even add a vocalist. Crazy, huh?

Some people also like to break away from the norm, and this is coming a guy in a cover band. This is pretty sweet, and he's getting amazing sounds from an acoustic.

BTW, Randy Rhodes is not even close to the greatest guitar player ever. He's good, but Satriani wipes his ass with most of what Rhodes has written.

Nice vid, Pauly. Vai is that musical abstract artist that just makes unnatural sounds sound natural in his music. Even dug his stand in for Adrian Vanderberg with Whitesnake on Slip of the Tongue. Kinda like EVH's signature sound.

SRV is my personal favorite. Will sit in the car to finish hearing his songs if I am at the destination I drove to. Had he lived long enough, could have been the greatest ever. But that seems to be the case with all of the great ones. Jimi was amazing, and Clapton is up there too. But you can't love Clapton and not think of his Buddy Guy influences. I'd give a nut to sit in a smoky pub and listen to Buddy Guy and B.B. King trade licks. And there is a reason that Les Paul had a line of guitars made with his name on them. How about Santana?

That cat at the top of the thread though, that's some impressive stuff. For those that play, sometimes its nice to do without the rest of the band and enjoy how dynamic a simple acoutsic guitar can be in the right hands.
