Finally, a jetpack mass produced and for sale from Martin Aircraft of New Zealand.

More fun than a motorcycle? Maybe so...

It's an FAA ultralight classification.

It does not need a pilot's license. :D

HOW DO I BUY ONE?

Martin Jetpack is currently accepting inquiries from commercial customers. Please place your initial inquiry through this site and we will contact you directly. It is expected that early orders for sales to private individuals will commence late 2010. If you would like to register your interest in purchasing a Jetpack for private use, please do so through our contact page. We will note your details and contact you when pre orders are being taken.

How much will they cost?

Martin Aircraft has built several prototypes so we have a good idea how much they cost to manufacture. Depending on production volume, the initial cost will be about the same as a high-end motorcycle or car. As volume increases this will drop to be similar to a mid-range motorcycle or car.

Okay, why is he wearing a helmet? It weighs 535#'s when you fall from the sky and that monstrosity falls on you a helmet will be useless.

But yea I'd probably wanna take one for a whirl too.

It's freaking cold up there in the air. You'd want a helmet.

Plus communications might be necessary.

Overall it might be quite loud and noisy.

It comes with a built-in parachute to land with if something goes wrong.

Awesome. I totally want one of these. I can't wait to see OR getting together for jetpack rides.:banana::banana:

5 gallons of gas available at a fuel burn rate of 10 gph. Methinks the flight will be short. lol

Remember, since you don't have to follow the roads, it's be a shorter trip anyways.

Man the only thing I would trust to take me up and bring me down is a para glider. I think that's what they're called. The parachutes and you strap the little engine on your back. Bear grylls flew one over Everest with oxygen for him and the motor.
