We've painted cars with it and used plenty of air tools. Problem is it was very $$$I want it mainly for working on cars (air ratchet, impact, etc.) Not sure if I'll paint with it or not. Any help brand, make, hp rating, capacity, oil or oilless. Thanks

c7fx
for what its worth I would go with a 60 gallon tank. Look at the tools you will be using and find a compressor that will run all the tools. Also a compressor that runs on 220 is much better.

chevysoldier
Bigger the better. Compressors will usually say on the box/ manual what they will run. Find what you need, then go a step or two bigger.
kitani2126
When I worked at Sears Hardware, what I have learned about air compressors is that you don't want anything less than 60 gallons. Plus if you get a craftsman you get a really good warranty.

But more importantly, you want one that delivers at least 14 cfm, especially if you are going to run any grinders or paint equipment.
