If it's aluminum metal in the oil, the engine should still clean up with a lot of work removing the metal from everything. Sounds like a piston gave up. As long as the cylinder bores/cylinder head survived. Crank bearings will have to be checked closely or replaced.

It's still better than breaking and throwing a piston rod.

Just an odd number to notice, but OR is up to 4567 members.

Seems liek just months ago that I saw 4000 posted. Oh wait, it WAS just months ago!

and out of all those people, how many actually post and are active on the board. Im going to say way less then 4567
