The build-up of my bike.

It started as a $300 basketcase 87 ZX750-F. With no fairings, and the gas tank was disintegrating in my hands.

The first order of business was a new gas tank. $35.00 of craigslist got me a tank from a ZX600, with a little modification it fit perfectly.

Yes, that's the ignition, yes it's by the rear brake reservoir. Yes it's held on with zip ties. No it's not permanent.

Stripped in this photo, and recently polished.

More pics/updates?

What's the current status?

I took it for a quick test run a week ago. It runs great. Now I've got to negotiate the Ohio BMV for a rebuilt title, joy of joys.

I'll have detail photos up of the front and rear setup probably tomorrow.

Ha. At first I thought this was an insult, and then I saw a photo of your bike.

We win the ugly bike award.

It is my first bike and I knew I was going to drop it. Only problem is that the owners before me dropped it alot as well and bondo only last so long. She might be more beaten than a red headed step child but I love her like my own :D

Mine was one of those "never had time to start projects" on craigslist. It didn't have fairings to begin with. I don't think I want them now. Especially since I know I'll lay it down quite a bit too.
