They need to add .5 mile more for shutdown since bikes are getting faster and faster. 1 mile from a sitting start...that's crazy shit! http://www.wildbrosracing.com/

At the Texas Mile, October 2010, Bill Warner of Wild Bros Racing goes 278.6 mph in a standing start mile, on a 650rwhp turbo charged Suzuki Hayabusa Streetbike. On board video taken facing rearward using an AiM Sports SmartyCam with in-video display of GPS speed. (sample rate of the in camera GPS does not allow recording of the top speed that was set in the timing traps)

I wonder what sprockets the bike is running... that telemetry data is sick. 6th gear shift at 250+mph. Awesome video/link.

From my drag racing, I know I shift my bike (stock gearing) from 3rd to 4th around 120mph at 10k rpms - 137-138 trap speed. So if I were a bettin' man, I'd guess this bike is geared down a few teeth ;)

Yeah, from many of the landspeed guys on bikeland and a few other forums they are almost always geared down. My beloved 14 was turbo'd and did 236 or something before. That's the top speed for the 14 down in Texas so far. It was a Mr. Turbo application. Most people don't need to run over 200mph...haha...so either bike is good, but the Busa has so much aftermarket you'd think it's a damn Mustang GT.

Bill Warner at it again...311mph in 1.5 miles @ Loring Maine

Remember this is a NON-STREAMLINER ('sit on') record. The motorcycle streamliner record is 376mph by Rocky Robinson
